Carolina Herrera was born in 1947 in Caracas, Venezuela, Maria Carolina Josefina Pacanins who later married Reinaldo Herrera from an aristocratic Venezuela family. Her career as a fashion designer started in 1982 after she had successfully raised a family. She debuted at the New York Metropolitan Club followed by her second show in Dallas, Texas. "Fashion is a repetition of ideas. It's the way you put it together that makes a difference," says Herrera. Herrera supervises their creation of everything herself, including her perfumes, which are made in Spain by Antonio Puig's company.
