Ernest Daltroff, Perfume Designer History
In 1903 Ernest Daltroff founded Parfums Caron as a petite perfumerie, situated in Rue Rossini E. Daltroff and the premier perfume were introduced in 1904. "Royal Caron" and "Radian". When Nazi Hiltler threatened Europe, Ernest Daltroff fled to New York, where inspired by the site of the Statue of Liberty, he created "Lady Caron". He was the first to formulate synthetic scents using pure phenyl acetic acid and terpineol, (ingredients later used by Chanel to help create Chanel No 5). Later Caron introduced the famous "Bellodgia", "Parfum Femme", "Nuit de Noel" a rich oriental rose fragrance and "Royal de Champagne" an exclusive personal cologne. The grand classics followed, "Fleur de Rocaille", "Muguet de Bonjeur" and "Pour Un Homme".
