Geoffrey Beene was born in Louisiana, USA and he attended the Trahagen School of Fashion in New York City and the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and the Academie Julian in Paris. Geoffrey Beene opened his first store in 1963 on Seventh Avenue in New York. He was best known for his classy sportwear, fragrance, home interiors and auto interior design. Geoffrey Beene's cologne "Grey Flannel" is considered an American classic.
