Givenchy Fashion and Perfume History
Huber de Givenchy was born in Beauvais, France in 1927. Givenchy moved to Paris after the liberation of France and he started to work for Jacques Fath. He also trained under Robert Piquet and became Lucien Lelong's assistant. Elsa Schiaparelli also had Givenchy manage her boutique until Givenchy opened his own "Maison de Couture" in February 1952. In 1953 Givenchy meet the actress Audrey Hepburn and he created many fashions for her films. John Galliano became Artistic Director at Givenchy in 1995 and then Alexander McQueen, who was replaced by Julien MacDonald. Givenchy is part of LVMH, for more information goto
