Roy Halston Fromwick was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1932 and he opened Halston's in New York in 1968. He became internationally famous when he designed a "pillbox" hat for Jackie Kennedy to wear to the Presidential inauguration. Halston also designed for Lisa Minelli, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Walters, Princess Grace and the Tuchess of Marlborough.
