Jacques Fath was created in 1944 when Jacques Fath opened his company on Pierre de Serbie in Paris. In 1948 Jacques Fath exported his creations to the United States where he was also active in creating film costumes for Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner and Greta Garbo. In 1977 Jacques Fath Company was purchase by EK Finances and they appointed Octavio Pizarro as Artistic Director and charged him with renewing the style and elegance, refinement and quality of the name.
