Roberto Cavalli was born in Florence, Italy on November 15, 1940. Roberto Cavalli began experimenting with printing on thin leather and he soon developed his famous "patchwork" leather patterns as well as getting patents on methods of leather printing that he discovered. In 1972 Cavalli showed his first collection. Cavalli is assisted by his wife, Eva Duringer.
