Romeo Gigli was born in Castelbolognese, Italy. In 1979 he moved to Italy and worked at Dimitri's atelier to learn technical secrets of fashion design. Gigli returned to Italy and in 1986 he introduced his first collection. In 1988 he opened Spazio Romeo Gigli in Milan and in 1989 he formed an agreement with Ermenegildo Zegna Group for production and he opened Romeo Gigli in Paris and he created Romeo Di Romeo Gigli and the perfume currently rates among the five best selling fragrances.
