Garavani Valentino was born in Italy and he created Valentino in 1959 after he completed his studies and apprenticeship with Jean Desses and Guy Laroche. In 1960 his friend Giancarlo Giammetti begins to manage Valentino's commercial development and by 1965 Valentino is recognized as a leading Italian haute couture designer. In 1968 Jackie Kennedy selects Valentino to design the wedding dress worn for her marriage to Aristote Onassis. In 1978 Valentino starts his first perfume "Valentino". He has been awarded all the top awards and honors by trade and governments.
