Gianni Versace and Donatella Versace History

Gianni Versace was born in 1946, Reggio Calabria, Italy and his sister Donatella Versace was born in 1955. In their early years their Mother supported the family with her small tailor-shop where the Versace children learned everything about dress making and fashion. By 1972 Gianni Versace was designing clothes for Fiori Fiorentini. He would later work for Parisi, Genny, Callegahan, Alma and then for Complice in 1974. In 1978 Versace opened his first boutique in Milan's Via Della Spiga. Donatella Versace is Head of Design. Gianni Versace was murdered in 1997.
