Yves Saint Laurent was born in 1936 in Oran, Algeria. He moved to Paris to study and by the time he was 18, Yves Saint Laurent was working under Christian Dior in Paris. Dior had a heart attach and by age 21, Yves Saint Laurent had to take over the Dior empire. Two years later Yves was drafted into the military and when he returned from military service, Yves with his partner Pierre Berge, set up his own design house. He was an instant success.
